About
A facilitation practice rooted in real leadership rooms
Orchard Base Facilitation Group helps management teams hold the conversations they keep postponing — with structure, fairness, and a written record of what was decided.
Registered business
The official registered business name is Orchard Base Facilitation Group. The practice was established in 2014 in Cape Borda, South Australia.
Early work began with regional operators who needed an external facilitator for planning days and conflict-heavy management meetings. Over time the practice grew to serve partnerships, public-sector management groups, and mid-size companies that want workshop days designed around decisions rather than presentations.
Mission
We exist so management teams leave a workshop with clearer priorities, named owners, and less unfinished argument than they brought in.
How we work
We spend more time on preparation than many sponsors expect. Brief interviews, a draft agenda, and frank conversation with the person commissioning the day protect the room from vague objectives. In session we balance airtime, test assumptions, and stop the group from mistaking activity for agreement.
Values that show up in the room
- Specificity over theatre. Agendas name the decision, not a theme.
- Fair airtime. Seniority does not buy a monopoly on the floor.
- Written closure. Decisions and actions leave the room on paper.
- Respect for place. We work with Australian teams in their own workplaces and landscapes.
People
Engagements are led by experienced facilitators who have spent years inside management workshops — designing agendas, holding conflict, and coaching sponsors before the day begins. We bring additional co-facilitators for larger retreats when the group size or hybrid setup requires it.
